Location: Remote U.S. worker (prefer NJ / NY based)
Position Overview: The Director will report to the Chief Investment Officer (CIO), partner with the CIO on strategic aspects of the Investments portfolio and collaborate closely with senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with the CIO in portfolio positioning, strategic asset allocation, and asset liability management decisions.
- Evaluate new investments from investment managers and confer with CIO in making investment decisions and ensuring appropriate risk adjusted returns.
- Act as liaison between investments and finance, actuarial, risk, and compliance teams; ensure investment strategy aligns with liability profiles.
- Monitor investment performance, exposure, and compliance with internal limits and Bermuda regulatory requirements.
- Manage investment committee materials, board reports, regulatory and investor submissions; maintain governance calendars and ensure documentation standards.
- Develop governance and processes for new Investments department.
- Spearhead investment manager updates to ensure strong understanding of portfolio performance, market developments, new opportunities and market pricing.
- Gauge investments performance through development of key analytics for CIO and senior leadership team.
- Drive improvements in investment reporting, data systems, and operational efficiency. Implement Artificial Intelligence as one avenue for creating efficiencies.
- Support Investments procurement activities to ensure that vendor and service provider relationships align with strategic and operational goals.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred.
- 8-10+ years of credit experience in investment management, and/or asset-liability management, ideally within the reinsurance or insurance industries. Origination, underwriting and/or portfolio management experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with Bermuda’s regulatory environment and reinsurance market is highly advantageous.
- Deep understanding of public and private assets, global capital markets and alternative asset classes.
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, and project management abilities.

The expected salary range for this position is $175,000 to $225,000. This role may also be eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation and stock-based long-term incentives. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
